Claire Dewitt

Claire grew up participating in pretty much every sport you could think of, but it wasn’t until she started playing competitive basketball in high school that she discovered her love for fitness. Things clicked into place for Claire when she realized she was more excited about off-season training in the gym than playing the game of basketball itself.

After discovering her love of fitness, Claire pursued her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. While she was learning about the physical side of training, she still struggled with her eating habits. Stressful days often led to eating boxes of donuts and french fries, leaving Claire with a stomach ache and feelings of guilt and shame. She was tired of feeling incredible during her morning workouts, only to be left feeling sluggish by the end of the day.

So she poured herself into studying the other aspects of fitness – nutrition, meditation and mindset, and habit change.  These practices allowed Claire to begin shifting her own eating habits, as well as develop systems for teaching these to her clients. Eventually, Claire developed a healthy relationship with food that allowed her to eat nutritiously dense meals without ever feeling deprived of the donuts she loved. After graduating from University, Claire decided to use her knowledge to start her own personal training business, before ultimately joining up with Team Nerd Fitness to take down Thanos (the misinformation commonly spread throughout the fitness industry.)

Claire understands how having a busy life -whether it’s multiple jobs, being in school, or juggling kids- can leave limited time to focus on building a healthy lifestyle. Claire strives to help clients create efficient workout routines and find simple nutrition hacks that allow them to navigate their busy day while still taking care of their health.

Claire’s favorite part of being a coach is watching her clients grow and transform. Losing weight and gaining muscle are incredible, but more than anything Claire loves the way adjusting someone’s lifestyle gives people a sense of confidence and self-love that bleeds into all areas of their life. She excels at working around injuries to create sustainable and enjoyable exercise routines. Claire is so excited to share her passion for health and fitness with other like-minded nerds just like herself.

Credentials and Certifications

  • B.S in Kinesiology
  • M.S. in Counseling Psychology

Star Wars or Lord of the Rings?

Star Wars.

Everyone I know is shocked by this but I have never seen Lord of The Rings. I know what you’re thinking. How have you never seen the most epic movie series possibly of all time? I don’t know. It’s been on my 2021 bucket list to watch at least the first one. I’ll have to revisit my Star Wars answer after that 😉

Favorite Video Game of All Time?

I’ll never turn down a game of Mario Kart, but my favorite game would have to be Hell’s Kitchen. There’s something about the fear of Gordon Ramsey freaking out at you while you’re cooking that always keeps me coming back.

Passionately Nerdy About?

Two things come to mind.

  1. Young adult fiction novels. John Green and Colleen Hoover are two of my favorites. I’m always drawn to the way the characters captivate your heart and then inevitably break it.
  2. Self-development. Whether it’s books, podcasts, therapy sessions, or journaling, I will forever be obsessed with learning how to better understand myself, and then make myself better.
