Stephanie Bell

Stephanie’s journey with nutrition & fitness didn’t start right away. As a teen, Stephanie spent most of her time outside of school reading, attending all-ages punk shows, and creating zines. Sports, athletics & exercise were the last things on her mind and things she had absolutely zero interest in. For most of her 20’s, she was a full-time college student while also being full-time in the restaurant industry. She found herself gaining weight, and struggling with her health and back pain.  After the birth of her son, she realized she would need to take control of her health and her eating habits. She knew it wasn’t going to get any easier the longer she waited.

This set her off on a quest throughout most of her 30’s of trying to find the “perfect” diet & the “perfect” exercise. She tried it all! Calorie counting, paleo, keto, running, powerlifting, Crossfit, Olympic lifting, group exercise, the list goes on! Any lost weight would be gained back, and injuries began to get more and more frequent.

On a lark one day, she decided to sign up for 1-on-1 nutrition coaching – she didn’t have high expectations, but it ended up being the best decision she’d ever made. She learned how to eat in a way that fit her body & learned that where she had always “failed” in the past was by trying “one-size-fits-all” diets, even though we are not “one-size-fits-all” people. Not only did she end up losing weight, but for the first time, she was able to maintain her weight loss. Most importantly, the constant brain fog & energy struggles that she just assumed were part of who she was went away. She was able to lift weights again and even hit new PR’s, which she never thought she would be able to do again because of her chronic pain & past injuries. Having guidance, support, and education enabled her to make permanent positive lifestyle changes while still being able to enjoy life & food!

Stephanie became completely fascinated by this process & wanted to know the hows & whys of nutrition and nutrition coaching. The more she learned and studied, the more she realized that this was the perfect intersection of all her interests. Stephanie was not only a chef, but was also a former scientist, and the study of nutrition married those two backgrounds perfectly. Combined with being fascinated by the study of habit & behavior change, she realized that coaching was her true calling and where she was meant to be!

Stephanie loves helping to empower people through coaching. She ran a successful chef business working with high-profile professional athletes while also being a mom & making time to prioritize her own health & fitness, so she understands the demands of trying to prioritize family and a career while still trying to find time to take care of oneself. Navigating the minefield of information/misinformation surrounding health, wellness, fitness & weight loss can be overwhelming, so she enjoys helping clients to learn that pursuing health goals doesn’t have to be as complicated as it seems sometimes. She also loves working with clients on their mindset, stress management, and body image, because those are key pieces of the puzzle that are not given nearly enough attention with most “diets.”

Stephanie has run countless half-marathons and trail runs, even competed in a couple of local Crossfit competitions for fun, and is passionate about strength training. Combined with nutrition & mindset, helping clients figure out how to complete their own trifecta of awesomeness by finding a blend of strength training, endurance training, and flexibility training that works for them and helps them feel at their best is what Stephanie is most passionate about. She believes that we can be “both a masterpiece and a work in progress simultaneously.”

Star Wars or Lord of the Rings?

Neither! (I’ll see myself out now…)

Your favorite video game of all time?

Currently, I am totally obsessed with Animal Crossing New Horizons. But, if we are talking OF ALL TIME – it would have to be: Panzer Dragoon Saga, Chrono Cross, Suikoden I & II, Final Fantasy VII, or the original Legend of Zelda (gold cartridge!). I really miss the RPGs of the Sega & PS1 days.

What are you passionately nerdy about?

The MCU – I was a late-comer to it, but have made up for it in spades! Gravity Falls. Yeast doughs & mastering the perfect pizza. Vintage cookbooks. Hiking, camping & backpacking. Music in general, but specifically late 80s/90s punk & riot grrrl.
